The authors give a proof of existence and uniqueness of a solution to the Cauchy problem for two versions of a generalized Zakharov's system which describes spontaneous magnetic field generation in, respectively, cold and hot plasmas. The model is a system of nonlinear partial differential equations for two complex vector and one real scalar functions in the three-dimensional space. The model's version corresponding to the hot plasmas contains also a spatial nonlocality. The proof is based on the standard iteration technique. The obtained results include the proof of existence of a local smooth solution, and analysis of behavior of the solutions when various parameters of the model take singular limit values.
