A series \(\sum x_n\) in a Banach space \(E\) is called weakly unconditionally Cauchy (wuC) if there is a constant \(K<\infty\) such that \(\left\|\sum^m_{n=1} \varepsilon_n x_n\right\|\leq K\) for all choices of \(\text{signs }\varepsilon_n= \pm 1\) and all \(m\in\mathbb{N}\). A Banach space \(E\) has Pełczyński's property \((u)\) if whenever \(\langle x_n\rangle\) is a Cauchy sequence in \(E\), there is a wuC series \(\sum y_m\) in \(E\) such that \(x_n- \sum^n_{m= 1} y_m\to 0\) weakly as \(n\to\infty\). The James Hagler space \(JH\) [\textit{J. Hagler}, Stud. Math. 60, 289-308 (1977; Zbl 0387.46015)] is defined as the completion of the set of all finitely supported functions \(x:T\to \mathbb{R}\) under the norm: \[ \|x\|= \sup\Biggl\{\sum^r_{i=1}|S_ix|: S_1,S_2,\dots, S_r\text{ is an admissible set of segments}\Biggr\}. \] In tis paper it is shown that the tensor product \(JH\widetilde{\otimes}_\varepsilon JH\) fails Pełczyński's property \((u)\). The proof uses a result of \textit{S. Kwapień} and \textit{A. Pełczyński} [Stud. Math. 34, 43-68 (1970; Zbl 0189.43505)] that the main triangle projection is unbounded in certain matrix spaces. Theorem. The Banach space \(JH\widetilde{\otimes}_\varepsilon JH\) fails Pełczyński's property \((u)\).
