For several important properties of Sibson's interpolant reference may be made to \textit{G. Farin} [Comput. Aided Geom. Des. 3, 83-127 (1986; Zbl 0633.65007)]. Introducing the idea of covering spheres the author shows that Sibson's interpolant can be easily performed because such an approach requires less computation. It has been shown that the covering spheres define the domains where a space of splines can be defined and that Sibson's interpolant is only a special case.
