    The authors prove some regularity results for the solution of the damped wave equation in a noncylindrical domain. More precisely, for the solution of the problem \[ {\partial^ 2u \over \partial t^ 2} = \Delta \left( u + \rho {\partial u \over \partial t} \right) + f \quad \text{in } Q, \] \[ u + \rho {\partial u \over \partial t} = 0 \quad \text{on} \quad \Gamma_ t,\;0 < t < T, \quad u(0,x) = u_ 0(x),\;{\partial u (0,x) \over \partial t} = u_ 1(x) \quad \text{in } \Omega_ 0 \] where \(Q = \cup_{0 < t < T} \{t\} \times \Omega_ t\), \(\Gamma_ t = \partial \Omega_ t\). The problem about the existence and uniqueness of solutions was considered in a previous paper by \textit{P. Cannarsa}, \textit{G. Da Prato} and \textit{J.-P. Zolesio} [J. Differ. Equations 85, No. 1, 1- 16 (1990; Zbl 0786.35089)]. The study of these types of problems is motivated by their applications to continuum mechanics.
