It is proved that if A is a simply-connected domain in the complex plane \({\mathbb{C}}\), \(A\neq {\mathbb{C}}\), which is a basin of immediate attraction of a sink in A, for a holomorphic map f defined on a neighbourhood of cl A, then Hausdorff dimension of the harmonic measure class \(\omega\) on \(\partial A\) viewed from A is equal to 1. Connections with measure- theoretic entropy of \(f|_{\partial A}\) and Lyapunov characteristic exponents are considered, as well as connections with Beurling's theorem that for a univalent map from the unit disc the radial limit exists everywhere but on a ''thin'' set and pre-images of points of A are also ''thin''. The \(C^ 1\)-version is also considered. The entropy part of the theory applies to the Gibbs equilibrium states for \(f|_{\partial A}\), \(\omega\) is just an example. The continuation entitled: Riemann map and holomorphic dynamics, will appear in the beginning of 1986 in Invent. Math.. Recently \textit{N. G. Makarov} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. 51, 369-384 (1985)], proved that in general the Hausdorff dimension \((\omega)=1\), without the assumption about the existence of f, provided A is a Jordan curve.
