The notion of a regular convex polytope has been generalized in various directions by Coxeter, McMullen, Grünbaum, Danzer, Schulte and many other authors. Among these generalized structures we find the regular 4- incidence-polytopes \(H_{b,c}\) of Grünbaum, whose maximal faces are not homeomorphic to the 3-dimensional unit ball, as in the classical situation, but to a full torus. The present paper shows how to obtain all known examples \(H_{b,c}\) as quotient structures from a regular honeycomb in the 3-dimensional hyperbolic space. It gives an explicit description of these examples, and of their automorphism groups.
