The author proposes a mechanical analog for the double sine-Gordon equation \[ (1)\quad \phi_{tt}-\phi_{xx}+\lambda_ 1 Sin \phi +(\lambda_ 2/2)Sin(\phi /2)=0. \] Under different cases for the parameters \(\lambda_ 1,\lambda_ 2\), the kink solutions are analyzed, and finally the analytic soliton wave solution of DSGE (1) are obtained for specific conditions. This is the extension of Cirillo's work on the SGE analogy [see \textit{M. Cirillo}, \textit{R. D. Parmentier} and \textit{B. Savo}, Physica D 3, 565-576 (1981)].
