\textit{B. Grünbaum} and \textit{G. C. Shephard} [C. R. Math. Acad. Sci., Soc. R. Can. 6, 61-66 (1984; Zbl 0528.52009)] have shown that there is no polyhedron of positive genus in \({\mathbb{E}}^ 3\) whose symmetry group acts transitively on its faces. However, by slightly generalizing the definition to allow ''inside-out'' symmetries, the present author does produce some examples, which he calls platonohedra.
