Let \(P^m({\mathbb C})\) be an \(m\)-dimensional complex projective space. A submanifold \(M\) in \(P^m({\mathbb C})\) is called generic if each normal space of \(M\) is mapped into the tangent space of \(M\) by the complex structure of \(P^m({\mathbb C}).\) In this paper, the following result is proved: Let \(M\) be an \(n\)-dimensional compact generic, minimal submanifold in \(P^{(n+r)/2}({\mathbb C})\). If \(M\) admits a parallel unit normal vector field and the scalar curvature \(\rho\geq (n+2)(n-1)\) on \(M\), then \(M\) is a real hypersurface \(M^C_{p,q}\) in \(P^{(n+1)/2}({\mathbb C})\) for some \(p,q\) satisfying \(2(p+q)=n-1\). Moreover, some new examples of a generic submanifold in \(P^m({\mathbb C})\) are given.
