There are classical results due to Siegel and Eichler saying that a Siegel cusp form vanishes identically whenever sufficiently many Fourier [resp. Fourier-Jacobi] coefficients vanish. A recent generalization was given by \textit{C. Poor} and \textit{D. S. Yuen} [Abh. Math. Semin. Univ. Hamb. 66, 337-354 (1996; Zbl 0867.11033)]. In the paper under review the author derives analogous results for Siegel modular forms and congruence subgroups as well as associated characters.
