This paper aims to present a quantum theory of harmonic spaces for the enveloping algebra \(U({\mathfrak g})\) of a complex semisimple Lie algebra \({\mathfrak g}\), in order to use it to obtain results in the classical case. Three of the main problems of interest in this paper are: (1) to find some combinatorial rules to calculate generalized exponents in the sense of Kostant; (2) to calculate the harmonic elements of \(U({\mathfrak g})\) and (3) to describe a decomposition such as the one of \textit{A. Joseph} and \textit{G. Letzter} [Am. J. Math. 116, 127-177 (1994; Zbl 0811.17007)] inside the classical enveloping algebra \(U({\mathfrak g})\) endowed with its natural filtration. Proposition 1.8 and 3.4 of the paper under review show how the \(q\)-analogues of problems (1) and (2) above can be solved in terms of Lusztig's canonical basis and its dual. Furthermore, in the special case \({\mathfrak g}= {\mathfrak {sl}}_{n+1}\), Theorem 4.3 gives an answer to problem (3).
