It is well known that convex sets and convex functions are basic and fundamental in various branches of pure and applied sciences. In recent years various types of convex sets have been introduced to tackle complicated and complex problems arising in daily life problems. It is perhaps part of the fascination of this subject that so many branches of pure and applied sciences are involved in the development of these sets. There are now several books in this area to cover some aspects of convex sets and convex functions. In this book, the authors have developed a unified approach to study convex sets and their related topics. They have written a nice and beautiful book covering almost all the related concepts and their applications. Their treatment of this subject is extremely clear and efficient and often highly original. It is the best text of its type that I have come across to date. It is an excellent source of information and inspiration for any one involved in the applications of convex sets. A brief history of convex sets and their structures is included. This book is intended for researchers, graduate students and for individuals wishing to learn more about convex sets and their applications in various branches of mathematical and engineering sciences. No previous knowledge is required. Certainly, this book will inspire and motivate many in the future to discover new and innovative applications of convex sets and convex functions in diverse fields. This book fulfills the need for a reference on the basic definitions and results, as well as for a state-of-the-art survey of this rapidly growing and dynamic field.
