In Discrete Math. 44, 145-154 (1983; Zbl 0507.05011), \textit{J. H. Dinitz} and the first author discussed mutually orthogonal Latin squares (MOLS) with holes and we refer the reader there for detailed definitions. In the present paper, the authors show that a pair of MOL with n holes of size h exist for \(h\geq 2\) if and only if \(n\geq 4\). For SOLS (self-orthogonal Latin squares) with holes, they prove the same result with two possible exceptions: SOLS with 7 or 13 holes of size 6.
