Extensions of the classical quantitative versions of the (multidimensional) Riemann-Lebesgue lemma are obtained for Fourier series, spherical harmonic expansions and the Fourier transform. The obtained estimates are in the spirit of the Hardy-Littlewood and Hausdorff-Young inequalities. It is worth citing the author's final comments: ``I was informed ... that a manuscript by \textit{D. Gorbachev} and \textit{S. Tikhonov} [``Moduli of smoothness and growth properties of Fourier transforms: Two-sided estimates'', J. Approx. Theory 164, No. 9, 1283--1312 (2012; Zbl 1252.42011)] contains some overlap with my present work ... I am curious to see that manuscript''. To compare, the results for the Fourier transforms and Fourier series in the paper of D. Gorbachev and S. Tikhonov are more general. In addition, bilateral estimates are obtained there for general monotone functions and the case of radial functions is studied separately.
