The following nonlinear Volterra-type functional-integral equation in a Banach space \(X=C([a,b],R)\) is considered \[ u(x)= f(x)+ \varphi\Biggl(\int^x_a F(x,t,u(t))dt\Biggr),\quad x,t \in I=[a,b]. \tag{1} \] Here, \(-\infty<a<b<\infty\), \(\varphi\) is a bounded linear mapping on \(X\). The existence, uniqueness and stability of solutions for (1) are proved by using a generalized Lipschitz condition. For this purpose, the fixed point theorem for the operator \(Tu\equiv f(x)+ \varphi\Biggl(\int^x_a F(x,t,u(t))dt\Biggr) \) is proved. It is also proved the Hyers-Ulam stability of the solutions of (1). In conclusion the authors give three simple examples of (1) with linear \(\varphi\). It is shown that each of these model equations has a stable unique solution in \(C[0,1]\).
