The aim of this work is to explore the dimension of the irreducible modules for Lie triple systems through dimensional formulas based on the Weyl formula of irreducible modules over simple Lie algebras. The paper also includes the complete classification of one-dimensional modules in arbitrary characteristic. In the initial sections, the authors recall the two flavors of simple Lie triple systems that one can find in nature: those whose \(\mathbb Z_2\)-graded envelope is simple, and those whose \(\mathbb Z_2\)-graded envelope \(L\) splits as a direct sum of two isomorphic simple ideals. For a given simple Lie algebra \(L\), we can consider the Lie triple system whose underlying vector space agrees with that of \(L\) and whose triple product is \([xyz]:=[[xy]\,z]\). The irreducible modules for these Lie triple systems can be described in terms of irreducible modules \(V(\lambda)\) over the Lie algebra \(L\), the symmetric tensors \(S^2 V(\lambda)\) and the skew-symmetric tensors \(\Lambda^2 V(\lambda)\). To be more specific: If \(L\) is a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, up to isomorphism, the finite-dimensional irreducible modules for the Lie triple system \(L\) defined above are: \(\Lambda^2 V(\lambda)\) with \(\lambda\neq 0\), \(\Lambda^2 V(\lambda)\) and \(V(\lambda)\otimes V(\mu)\) with \(\lambda\neq\mu\) (see Proposition 2.2). Section 3 classifies irreducible one-dimensional representations of simple Lie triple systems over arbitrary fields of characteristic others than \(2\) and \(3\). Sections 4 and 5 contain the main dimensional results.
