Families of periodic orbits emanating from homoclinic orbits in the restricted problem of three bodies (Q1766805): Difference between revisions

The authors investigate symmetric and non-symmetric periodic orbits associated with the Lagrangian point \(L_4\) of circular planar restricted three-body problem. In particular, they study the evolution of Trojan web of periodic orbits, i.e. periodic orbits associated with the equilibrium \(L_4\) (and their symmetric orbits associated with \(L_5\)) for the mass ratio \(\mu\) smaller than \(\mu_1= (1-\sqrt{23}/27)/2\). The numerical results on the evolution of families of periodic orbits associated with homoclinic orbits emanating from the libration point \(L_4\) are presented for values of the mass ratio larger than \(\mu_1\).
