Martikainen and Petrov have proved an SLLN for sums of i.i.d. random variables where the sums are not normalized by the number of summands, but by an arbitrary monotonically increasing sequence of reals. The conditions under which the result is valid is expressed in terms of the growth of this sequence. The author extends this result to sums of i.i.d. random variables indexed by \(Z^d_+\), \(d \geq 2\), with a prespecified notion of ``increasing sequence''.
