The purpose of the German language book is the introduction of modeling of technical systems by methods of probability theory and statistics. The main points in the topics are the practical telecommunication and the classical queueing theory. The book provides the necessary basis for the analytical performance evaluation and its application. In Chapter 1 important concepts of the model building and performance evaluation in connection with analytical test methods are addressed and examples for model building in the computer communication and production systems are presented. The important bases of the probability theory and the often necessary transformation methods and distribution functions are summarized. In Chapter 2 the analytical performance evaluation of the often necessary basic stochastic processes is dealt with in detail. The class of renewal processes is introduced. Important relations to the analysis of Markov-state processes are explained. The Chapters 3 and 4 handle the classical model of traffic theory. In Chapter 5 the procedures of discrete-time traffic model analysis are explained. Discrete time systems and their models have a great importance in modern communication systems and computer networks for transmission of data packages of fixed length. For making complete the scope of the book, Chapter 6 explains the method of matrix analysis. The class of the analysis methods has many applications in the systems research. It is one of the most important new methodical developments of the model analysis. The Index and a list of the designations and symbols used in the book closes the book.
