In the monograph ``On Hilbert-Schmidt Operator Formulation of Noncommutative Quantum Mechanics,'' the authors present a concise formalism of operator algebra and modular theories and employ such formulation on the description of non-commutative quantum mechanics. It is not only a very useful material for one who works closely to the mathematical formulation of an open quantum system, quantum statistics or quantum information in the context of operator algebra but also a model guideline for the scholar who is interested in the concept of application of the theory in the mentioned filed of physics. In the first half of the text, even though almost all statements can be found in many standard textbook on operator algebra, the basic description of operator algebra and Tomita-Takesaki theory are concisely provided and more concrete. All relevant definitions and theorems are provided with compact proofs that yield a clear idea to the readers about the task. In the latter parts, the modular theory and the specific setup concerning thermal state and coherent state are given. The formulation is inspired by the problem of electron behaviour in a constant magnetic field in condensed matter, where the examples of the elements introduced in the formalism are given within this context. This demonstrates the idea of adoption of the operator algebra and modular theory to explain the fundamental problem in quantum physics that can advise the readers on the application on the other physical contexts as well. In summary, this is one of the useful materials for one whose work concerns the application of the operator algebra to non-commutative quantum mechanics and also a valuable guideline for one who is interested in such connections.
