\textit{W. Winter} and \textit{J. Zacharias} [Adv. Math. 224, No. 2, 461--498 (2010; Zbl 1201.46056)] introduced the nuclear dimension for \( C^\ast \)-algebras, as a noncommutative version of the covering dimension. It is shown that this notion is very useful in the study of structure and classification of \( C^\ast \)-algebras. This paper focuses on the nuclear dimension of \( C^\ast \)-algebras associated to topological flows and orientable line foliations. Let \(Y\) be a locally compact second countable Hausdorff space and \(\alpha\) be a flow on \(C_0(Y)\). If \(Y\) has finite covering dimension, then the crossed product \(C_0(Y)\rtimes \mathbb R\) has finite nuclear dimension (see Theorem 8.1). This generalizes the result for free flows in [\textit{I. Hirshberg} et al., Commun. Math. Phys. 353, No. 1, 253--316 (2017; Zbl 1383.46051)]. As an application, the authors give a bound for the nuclear dimension of \( C^\ast \)-algebras associated to orientable line foliations. This is achieved by using the theory of fiberwise groupoid covering maps. Moreover, the authors prove that any clopen inclusion of locally compact groupoids induces a conditional expectation. This conditional expectation can keep track of the Cartan subalgebras.
