It has been pointed out by Gabriel Navarro that Lemma 7.2 of \textit{C. Bonnafé} et al. [Ann. Math. (2) 185, No. 2, 609--670 (2017; Zbl 1471.20028)] is incorrect. Thus, as it stands, the proof of the main Theorem 7.7 of that paper requires an added hypothesis about the existence of a certain extension of a bimodule. In the present paper, the author shows that this added hypothesis is unnecessary in the special cases where (in the notation of the earlier paper) \(G\) is a simple algebraic group and either the prime \(\ell\nmid q^{2}-1\) or \(N^{F}/L^{F}\) is cyclic.
