In this very interesting work, the author establishes a multivariable non-commutative generalization of Loewner's theorem, characterizing operator monotone functions as real functions that admit analytic continuation, mapping the upper half of the complex plane into itself. The main result proved here represents several variable operator monotone functions of positive operator tuples, not assumed to be analytic or continuous, as a Schur complement of a positive linear matrix pencil. In order to accomplish this, an abstract integral formula for these functions is established. This, in turn, is achieved using only matrix convexity and linear matrix inequalities that represent operator monotone and operator concave free functions as a conditional expectation of a Schur complement of a linear matrix pencil, on a certain tensor product operator algebra. It is shown that the obtained results can be applied to any of the multivariable operator means that have been constructed in the past, to obtain an explicit and closed formula.
