Let \(X,Y\) be two subsets of real numbers with more than 2 points. Let \(BV(X)\) denote the space of functions $f$ of bounded variation \({\mathcal V}(f)\), equipped with the sum of the infinity norm and \({\mathcal V}(.)\) as the norm. In this paper the author first describes surjective linear isometries of the spaces of continuous functions in this class, when the underlying sets are compact, as composition with a monotonic homeomorphism times a complex scalar of absolute value one. In the case of \(2\)-local isometries, it turns out that any such map is a scalar multiple of a linear algebraic isomorphism between the spaces.
