This is a research monograph devoted to the design of asynchronous sequential logic circuits. In general, asynchronous sequential circuits consist of combinational circuits with feedback connections. Since asynchronous circuit analysis and design is a complicated and heterogeneous problem, the main goal of the author's original approach is to eliminate heterogeneity. This is done by introducing logic-dynamical operations -- venjunction and sequention. As a result, the description of circuits is in the form of enhanced Boolean logic. Venjunction is a formalized mathematical representation of the expression ``switching\dots on the background of\dots''. Sequentions are sequences of switchings and include venjunctions as minisequentions. It should be noted that circuit descriptions are rather lengthy -- this may be the result of avoiding graph representations. The book consists of four chapters. Bibliographical references are given at the end of each chapter. The initial two chapters examine thoroughly the venjunction operation, the third chapter is devoted to in-depth analysis of sequentions. The last chapter presents mainly trigger descriptions in the notation used in the book. Finally, this research monograph presents the author's approach to logical models of the memory in combinational circuits with feedback and without clock. The appendices contain lists of venjunctive functions, lists of functions for trigger descriptions and examples of asynchronous sequential functions descriptions. A drawback is the lack of an index of terms with page numbers, which would have been very useful. The material of this book may be recommended as a basis for a facultative lecture for academic courses in digital design.
