This paper contains a detailed analysis of the ``character table'' of an association scheme connected with \(GL(n,q)\). To understand the significance and purpose of this work the reader should look at \textit{E. Bannai's} article [in Finite geometries, buildings and related topics, 1985, 105-128 (1990; Zbl 0757.05100)]. The association scheme under discussion is related to the action of \(GL(n,q)\) on non-incident point- hyperplane pairs (in the projective geometry). This is one of a series of papers by these authors, sometimes with other collaboraters [\textit{E. Bannai, S. Hao} and \textit{S. Y. Song}, J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 54, No. 2, 164-200 (1990; Zbl 0762.20005); J. Algebra 144, No. 1, 167-188 (1991; Zbl 0762.20004); \textit{E. Bannai, N. Kawakana} and \textit{S. Y. Song}, J. Algebra 129, 320-366 (1990; Zbl 0761.20013); \textit{E. Bannai} and \textit{S. Y. Song}, Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 58, 209-236 (1989; Zbl 0682.20050)].
