Sharp estimates for the warping function \(f\) of a warped product submanifold \(M=M_1\times_fM_2\) tangent to the structure vector \(\xi\) into a Kenmotsu space form in terms of the mean curvature are obtained. It is also proved that there do not exist warped product submanifolds \(M_1\times_fM_2\) in an Kenmotsu space form such that \(\xi\) is tangent to \(M_2\).
