The stationary first passage percolation is first studied. The measure on the space of configurations is supposed to have good properties including ergodicity. From there a competing spatial growth model is constructed with three possible states \{0,1,2\} at each vertex. Vertices in states 1 and 2 remain in their state for ever while vertices in state 0 can switch to state 1 or state 2. The author proves that with positive probability, state 1 and 2 both reach an infinite number of vertices. This improves results of \textit{O. Häggström} and \textit{R. Pemantle} [J. Appl. Probab. 35, 683--692 (1998; Zbl 0920.60085)]. \textit{O. Garet} and \textit{R. Marchand} gave recently another proof of the main theorem [Ann. Appl. Probab. 15, 298--330 (2005; Zbl 1080.60092)].
