The explicit expressions for the complete and incomplete Barnett-Lothe tensors, which appear in the real form solutions of anisotropic elasticity problems, are presented for monoclinic materials with the plane of symmetry at \(x_ 3=0\). The authors apply the method of matrix algebra, using the eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors of polynomial matrix. They show that the Barnett-Lothe tensors have five independent components, whereas in the general anisotropic case there are nine, and discuss some problems pertaining to those of the fields around infinitesimal cracks in bimaterials, line forces, and dislocation lines.
