Let \(F=(F_1,\ldots,F_k):\mathbb{R}^n\to\mathbb{R}^k\) a polynomial map. The paper under review describes several formulas for the computation of the Euler characteristic of the real algebraic set \(F^{-1}(0,\ldots,0).\) Several of the formulas are due to previous results, like the case of a \(0\)-dimensional algebraic set, where the formulas are due to [\textit{P. Pedersen} et al., Progr. Math. 109, 203--224 (1993; Zbl 0806.14042)], [\textit{E. Becker} and \textit{T. Wörmann}, Contemp. Math. 155, 271--291 (1994; Zbl 0835.11016)] and [\textit{G. Khimshiashvili}, Proc. Georgian Acad. Sci., Math. 1, No. 3, 311--321 (1993; Zbl 0817.14035)]; the case of a compact algebraic set, where the result presented is due to [\textit{Z. Szafraniec}, Topology 25, 411--414 (1986; Zbl 0611.32007), J. Reine Angew. Math. 397, 194--201 (1989; Zbl 0667.57010)] and [\textit{J. W. Bruce}, Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 22, No. 6, 547--552 (1990; Zbl 0689.14007)]; the case of a smooth complete intersection was proven in [\textit{P. Dudziński} et al., Topology 32, No. 3, 573--576 (1993; Zbl 0792.32023)], [\textit{Z. Szafraniec}, Topological invariants of real analytic sets. Ph.D. thesis, Uniwersytet Gdanski, (1993)], [Manuscr. Math. 85, No. 3--4, 345--360 (1994; Zbl 0824.14046)]; the case of a complete intersection with isolated singularities was dealt by the author in [\textit{N. Dutertre}, Glasg. Math. J. 46, No. 2, 323--334 (2004; Zbl 1054.14076)]. Finally, the case of a complete intersection with a compact singular set is treated, and proofs of new results are given.
