The authors consider composition operators from log-Bloch spaces into \(\mu\)-Bloch spaces defined on the unit ball of \(\mathbb C\), namely, if \(\mathcal B^{\mu}\) stands for the space of holomorphic functions on the unit disc such that \(\sup_{|z|<1} \mu(z) |f'(z)|<\infty\) and \(\mathcal B^{\log}\) corresponds to the case \(\mu(z)=(1-|z|)\log (\frac{3}{1-|z|})\), they show that \(C_\phi(f)=f\circ\phi\) maps \(\mathcal B^{\log}\) into \(\mathcal B^{\mu}\) if and only if \(\sup_j \frac{\|\phi^j\|_{\mathcal B^{\mu}}}{\|F_j\|_{\mathcal B^{\log}}}<\infty\), where \(F_j(z)=z^j\). As usual, the corresponding little oh condition describes the compactness and the \(\limsup_j \frac{\|\phi^j\|_{\mathcal B^{\mu}}}{\|F_j\|_{\mathcal B^{\log}}}\) gives the essential norm of \(C_\phi\). The main new contribution with respect to all the previously known results comes from the fact that \(\mu\) is not assumed to be radial, as in most of the known cases.
