The aim of the author is to study the relationship between the Dirichlet problem \[ {\mathcal L}u\equiv \operatorname{div} A \nabla u=0 \quad\text{in }\Omega, \qquad u= f \quad\text{on }\partial \Omega, \] and the regularity problem, for \(\Omega\) being a bounded Lipschitz domain in \(\mathbb R^n\), \(n \geq 2\), \(f \in C(\partial \Omega)\) and the coefficients in \({\mathcal L} \) are bounded measurable. It is known that the \(L^p \) regularity implies the solvability of the \(L^p \) Dirichlet problem, where \(p'=\frac{p}{p-1}\). The converse, which is true in the case of Laplace equation, for a general second order elliptic operator with nonsmoooth coefficients is an open problem. The author obtains a partial result in this note.
