The present paper is concerned with the stability of planar waves for the spatial two-dimensional isentropic Euler equations with frictional damping. It is assumed that the initial data are small perturbations of a planar diffusion wave with a small wave strength; the pressure is a smooth increasing function of the density in a neighborhood of a constant state of the density and the density under consideration is in the above neighborhood. The convergence of the solution of the above Cauchy problem to the planar diffusion wave with a shift only in one direction determined by the initial perturbation is shown.
