An interpretation of absolutely convex modules subject to a separatedness condition as the numerical counterpart of vector spaces is given. It is shown that the full reflective embedding \({\mathcal V}ec \to {\mathcal{AC}}\) is at the same time coreflective, too. Besides, standard dualisation functors are used to express \({\mathcal V}ec\) and \({\mathcal{AC}}\) as categories of Eilenberg-Moore algebras [cf. also \textit{M. Sioen} and \textit{S. Verwulgen}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 207, No.~3, 675--686 (2006; Zbl 1111.46053)].
