    The paper investigates the sideways advection-diffusion problem \[ u_t+ u_x= u_{xx},\, x> 0,\, t>0,\, u(x,0)= 0,\, x\geq 0,\, u(1,t)= g(t),\, t\geq 0,\, u(x,t)|_{x\to\infty}\text{\,bounded}.\tag{1} \] The stability estimates obtained by other authors for the sideways heat conduction problem \[ V_t= V_{xx},\;x> 0,\;t> 0,\quad V(x,0)= 0,\;x\geq 0,\quad V(1,t)= G(t),\;V(x,t)|_{\lambda\to\infty}\text{ bounded}\tag{2} \] are accommodated for the problem (1). All the Fourier analysis could have been avoided by remarking that the problems (1) and (2) are connected via the transformation \[ u(x,t)= V(x,t)\exp\Biggl({x\over 2}- {t\over 4}\Biggr),\quad g(t)= G(t)\exp\Biggl({1\over 2}- {t\over 2}\Biggr). \] Remark: that if \(u(x,t)|_{x\to\infty}\) is bounded then \(\lim_{x\to\infty} V(x,t)= 0\). However, if \(V(x,t)|_{x\to\infty}\) is bounded it does not result in general that \(u(x,t)|_{x\to\infty}\) is bounded.
