The authors attempt to describe weakly compact sets in \(X\widehat{\otimes}_\pi Y\) in terms of a topology that is reminiscent of the ball topology. However, the argument is incomplete (the inclusion in line~\(-8\) of p.\,511 is unfounded). The authors are aware of the problem and are trying to fix the gap.
