The authors consider on the interval \([0,1]\) the second-order delay differential system \[ \begin{gathered} x''(t)+\alpha f(t, x(t-\tau_1),y(t-\tau_2))=0,\\ y''(t)+\beta g(t, x(t-\tau_1),y(t-\tau_2))=0 \end{gathered} \tag{1} \] with the boundary conditions \[ \begin{gathered} x(t)=0\quad\text{for~} -\tau_1\leq t\leq 0,\qquad y(t)=0\quad\text{for~} -\tau_2\leq t\leq 0,\\ x(1)=0,\qquad y(1)=0. \end{gathered} \tag{2} \] Here, \(f,g: (0,1)\times [0,+\infty)\times [0,+\infty)\to \mathbb{R}\) are continuous functions and \(\tau_1\), \(\tau_2\), \(\alpha\), \(\beta\) are positive constants. The functions \(f\) and \(g\) may have singularities at the first variable at the end points of the interval \((0,1)\). The authors present some sufficient conditions on the twin-parameter \((\alpha,\beta)\) belonging to an open rectangular region to guarantee the existence of a solution of (1), (2), which is positive in the interval \((0,1)\). The proofs are based on Krasnosel'skii's fixed-point theorem.
