Recall that an \(n\times n\) real matrix A is Lyapunov diagonally stable iff there is a diagonal matrix D with positive diagonal such that \(DA+A^ TD\) is positive definite. The author presents six new conditions each of which is equivalent to diagonal stability. He then utilizes his results to simplify the known characterization of diagonal stability for \(3\times 3\) matrices.
