Here the author proves the following main result. Theorem A. Let \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{C}^n\) be a \(q\)-complete open set with \(C^2\)-smooth boundary. Then its closure has a fundamental system of neighborhoods formed by \((q+1)\)-complete open sets. If \(\Omega\) is relatively compact, then it has a bounded \(q\)-convex exhaustion function. He gives examples (even with \(C^\infty\)-smooth boundary) for which the closure does not have a fundamental system of neighborhoods formed by \(q\)-complete sets. Then he defines the notion of Levi \(q\)-convexity to extend Theorem A to the case in which the ambient space is not \(\mathbb{C}^n\) but a \(p\)-complete complex manifold.
