Compact Hausdorff spaces are situated in the class of completely regular spaces as a reflective subcategory, and this is due to the Čech-Stone compactification which behaves as a functor. It is known from the papers from the seventies [\textit{D. Harris}, Math. Ann. 193, 171-175 (1971; Zbl 0205.26603)] that absolutely closed Hausdorff (H-closed) spaces are situated in the same manner in the class of Hausdorff spaces if the class of continuous maps is restricted to some special ones, and this is due to the Katětov extension. The authors show an analogous result for minimal Hausdorff spaces (which are known to be semiregular) and the class of semiregular Hausdorff spaces if a suitable extension is chosen and if the class of maps is appropriately restricted.
