The paper deals with infinite dimensional optimal control problems with constraints on the state and in particular with the analysis of the Hamilton-Jacobi equations. Hamilton-Jacobi equations have been studied in finite and infinite dimensions, by assuming that the constraint set is the closure of an open set. In this paper, the authors study the case in which the constraint set can have an empty interior. In suitable assumptions on the controls they obtain some existence and regularity results. Some applications and examples are also given.
