Let \(\phi : (M,g)\rightarrow (N,h)\) be a biharmonic map from a complete Riemannian manifold into a Riemannian manifold with non-positive sectional curvature. Let us denote by \(\tau(\phi)\) the tension field of \(\phi\) and let \(p\in [2,+\infty)\). The main result of this article is that if \(\int_{M}|\tau(\phi)|^{p}dv_{g}<\infty\) and \(\int_{M}|d\phi |^{2}dv_{g}<\infty\) then \(\phi\) is harmonic. Furthermore, the authors show that if \(Vol(M,g)=\infty\) then the assumption \(\int_{M}|d\phi |^{2}dv_{g}<\infty\) is not necessary.
