    In this paper, the following problem is considered: If \(\Lambda\) is a finite dimensional self-injective algebra over a field and if X is a module with \(Ext^ n(X,X)=0\) for all \(n\geq 1\), is then X projective? It is shown that this problem is affirmative in case 1) \(\Lambda\) is a symmetric algebra with radical cube zero; 2) \(\Lambda\) is a trivial extension algebra \(A\ltimes DA\) with A hereditary. As consequences, partial answers to the classical Nakayama conjecture concerning finite dimensional algebras with complete resolutions are obtained.
