Let \(f\) and \(g\) be holomorphic self-maps of the unit disc satisfying \(f\circ g=g\circ f\). The authors give conditions which imply that \(f=g\). Here we only state these conditions in the (most interesting) case where \(f\) and \(g\) are not automorphisms of the unit disk and where the common Denjoy-Wolff point \(\tau\) is on the boundary of the unit disc. In this case \(\lim_{r\rightarrow 1} f'(r\tau)\) exists and is contained in the interval \((0,1]\). It is shown that \(f=g\) if one of the following conditions holds: \(\lim_{r\rightarrow 1} f'(r\tau)=\lim_{r\rightarrow 1} g'(r\tau)<1\), \(f\in C^{3+\varepsilon}(\tau)\), \(g\in C^2(\tau)\), \(f'(\tau)=g'(\tau)=1\), \(f''(\tau)=g''(\tau)\not=0\), \(f\in C^{5+\varepsilon}(\tau)\), \(g\in C^4(\tau)\), \(f'(\tau)=g'(\tau)=1\), \(f''(\tau)=g''(\tau)=0\), \(f'''(\tau)=g'''(\tau)\). Together with the conditions not stated here, the result deals with all possible cases.
