This paper focuses on the numerical approximation of the one-dimensional linear Schrödinger equation using the local discontinuous Galerkin method. A special interpolation function is considered by constructing a correction function, and it is proven that the numerical solution is superclose to the interpolation function in the \(L^2\)-norm. The superconvergence properties of the scheme is studied, it is shown that for polynomials of degree at most \(k\), the order of superconvergence is \(2k+1\). In the analysis the special correction functions and special initial conditions are required to overcome the wave equation character of the linear Schrödinger equation, which is thus not coercive and also there is no control of the derivative for later time based on the initial condition. The paper proves a \((2 k + 1)\)-th order superconvergence rate for the domain, cell averages, and the numerical fluxes at the nodes in the maximal and average norm. Furthermore, the function value and the derivative approximation are shown to be superconvergent with a rate of \((k + 2)\)-th order at the Radau points. The theoretical results are supported by numerical experiments.
