The authors consider a Hecke algebra corresponding to a polynomial ring. They give a characterization of the operators satisfying the Coxeter and the Hecke conditions from the definition of the Hecke algebra and also to some additional relations. In their main result it is established a necessary and sufficient condition for two operators \(D\) and \(D'\) to preserve the polynomial ring \(\mathbb C [a,b,c]\), where \(D\) (respectively \(D'\)) corresponds to \(a, b, c\) and a nonzero rational function \(P\) (respectively \(P'\)) in \(b\) and \(c\). They also describe a free \(\mathbb C[A]\)-module defined by a class of operators from \(\mathbb C [A]\) to itself, \(A\) being an alphabet. It is obtained an extension of a result of \textit{I. N. Bernshtein}, \textit{I. M. Gel'fand} and \textit{S. I. Gel'fand} [Usp. Mat. Nauk 28, No. 3(171), 3--26 (1973; Zbl 0286.57025); translation in Russ. Math. Surv. 28, No. 3, 1--26 (1973)].
