The author elaborates on some differences between linear discrete time systems on \(\mathbb{Z}\) and \(\mathbb{Z}_+\). Especially the role of finite support trajectories is stressed. This paper uses the language and notions of the behavioral approach of linear systems as originated by J. C. Willems.
