This paper concerns the study of the varieties of totally positive elements in Schubert cells for an arbitrary semisimple complex Lie group \(G\). These varieties were introduced by G. Lusztig. The interest in the study of these varieties stems from their relationship with the canonical bases for the quantized universal enveloping algebras (of complex semisimple Lie algebras).
