A valuated matroid is an abstraction of matroids representable over some field having non-archimedean valuation, just like an oriented matroid is an abstraction of matroids representable over some ordered field. Projective equivalence of valuations of matroids is studied and these matroids are shown to be in \(1-1\) correspondence to matroids with coefficients in certain coefficient domains.
