This is an excellent paper developing the finite-element solution for an anisotropic one-sided Stefan and Mullins-Sekerka problem with the Gibbs-Thomson law and kinetic under cooling. A weak formulation of the problem is constructed followed by a derivation formal energy bound. Some parametric finite element spaces are introduced and the space is discretized in such a way to provide unconditionally stable approximations of the problem under certain conditions. A finite element algorithm is developed and its convergence is tested for the one-sided Stefan and the one-sided Mullins-Sekerka problems. Crystal growths are simulated for 2D and 3D geometries.
